The FAMAS PGMP (Poignée Garde-Main Polyvalente) is a multi-purpose carry handle module developed by the French military to meet the demands of modern combat. The original FAMAS carry handle, constructed from polymer, lacks sufficient rigidity to securely support optical devices and maintain zero. The PGMP addresses this by incorporating a reinforced metal base that anchors the rail directly to the rifle’s body, significantly improving structural stability and overall functionality. It supports the installation of a standard Picatinny rail, Aimpoint interface, and SCROME J4F1 interface. A mounting position is also provided on the side for the upcoming PIRAT laser device. This design effectively transforms the FAMAS into a modern weapon platform with enhanced night-fighting capability.
Our PGMP replica is developed and reproduced based on an authentic unit that we were able to acquire. Due to its complex structure, high part count, and irregular geometry, the PGMP is difficult to manufacture and assemble, resulting in significantly higher production costs compared to other products. The main structure is made of aluminum alloy, following the original design to ensure both strength and stability. Critical fastening points utilize steel screws to enhance structural reliability and resistance to deformation. In addition, a shortened grenade sight, redesigned specifically to match the PGMP dimensions, is manufactured using 3D printing. This kit faithfully reproduces the original design while balancing practical usability with modern manufacturing techniques.
